I have been volunteering for  the Cedarburg festivals for about 3 years, and they asked if I’d like to design the Strawberry Festival posters. Although there were varying opinions from the staff, they were looking for a more illustrative style and needed three varied samples to start with. The first three designs were presented to them with the requirements of their logo, their sponsors logo, name, date, QR, socials and no dogs. The three are very different each focusing on a different aspect of the festival. 

The first poster is a fun illustration of the strawberry shortcake that gets made. The strawberry syrup typically gets pretty messy and this post was lovingly called the goop poster. 

The second poster was made to focus more on the history of Cedarburg and the festivals. In general both draw many tourists each year so I decided on a postage stamp as a symbol of people traveling to Cedarburg. I incorporated a weathered texture and the City of Cedarburgs logo as a seal to add to the historic value. 

The third poster was meant to bring light to the many vendors who attend strawberry festival. From clothing, to arts, to food and drink, theres something for everyone at the festival.
